In 2023, Smith Elementary School proudly received recognition for its outstanding achievement in the Positive Behavior Support Project, Phase 4, Tier 2. This honor was awarded by the Delaware Positive Behavior Support Project, highlighting the school’s dedication to creating a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for all students.

In 2019-2021, Smith Elementary School was committed to supporting and recognizing partnerships between the PTA and their school. Smith Elementary was awarded the National PTA School of Excellence.
